Ingredients
  

For the Cookies:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies optional

For Garnish (Optional):

  • 2 tbsp crushed peppermint candies
  • 1/4 cup melted dark chocolate for drizzling
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F; line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease lightly.
  • Whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  • Beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until fluffy. Add egg, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract; beat until combined.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet; mix until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips and peppermint candies.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls; place 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes; transfer to a wire rack. Drizzle with melted chocolate, sprinkle with peppermint candies and sea salt. Serve warm or at room temperature.
